This addition required a new foundation, so we called in Jack Stilkey to hold it up as we replaced the footings to where they should have been installed, 4' below the surface.
This Ranch house had an addition installed 25 years ago on a not so good foundation. Over the years it heaved and settled until it was coming right off the building and taking that side of the building with it.
Apparently my quote was reasonable enough to convince the folks to save it rather than demolish it. A little known fact that sometimes house jacking isn't as expensive as it may first seem when the alternative is destruction of more than is necessary.
Basically we jacked up the addition about 7 inches and yanked it into place with some custom brackets I had fabricated and welded. then in came my cousin and his team excavating and smashing out the old concrete.
A new foundation poured and some new walls assembled as we pulled the house back to its former location. All the inside needed was some drywall repairs, flooring and threshold repairs and some painting we were done.
